If you have pictures (photographs, artwork, drawings etc.) that you want to include in your stories you must first ensure that they are saved in either JPEG or GIF format for the Web. Most image editing packages allow you to save you images in these formats. In general it is best to use JPEG format for images containing many colours and shades (such as photos) and GIF format for images containing flat colours and/or text. You must also check on any copyright implications if using images that are not your own photos or your own artwork.
Creating new pictures involves uploading your pictures to the
Schoolblogs server and associating them with text.
To do this, first select the Pictures option for the Editors menu displayed
at the top of the screen.

A list of your pictures already stored in your site on the Schoolblogs server is displayed along with the option to create a new picture.

Select the option to Create a New Picture at the end of
the list of pictures.
A new window will then appear giving you the chance to enter a title for the
picture, choose an image from your local or hard drive and then associate text
with that picture..

To change the title of a picture or the associated text, select the picture you wish to edit from the list of pictures.

The picture you have selected will be displayed. Select the option
to Edit this Page to change any of the details
(note you cannot edit the picture itself here. You need to do that in your image
editing program using the original image).

Your picture will then be displayed and the edit window will appear.
Make your required changes and then click the Post Changes option to
save your changes.

You can insert your pictures into a story by typing the name of the picture in double quotes in the appropriate location of your story. In this example, the picture called "headline 2" will be placed before the main title of the story and the "scene picture" below the title.

The matching pictures will then be displayed at the specified locations in your story.
