Once you have logged into your new site you will have the option
to change your preferences.
To do this, select the Prefs link as shown below.

You can also change your preferences by selecting the Prefs option from the Editorial menu displayed at the top of the screen.

A list of preferences options will then be displayed in the left hand frame.

This section describes how to change the editorial settings for your site. You may wish to experiment with other preference settings such as the appearance of your site, the theme and membership details (including who can read and post messages to your site).
To change the editorial preferences, select the Editorial option from the Preferences menu. You can specify who can edit your site by typing into the appropriate boxes (see below) the e-mail addresses of anyone you wish to have editorial rights

The editorial preferences option also allows you to change whether you want to receive an e-mail each time your site is updated. Another important option is changing the edit window (if using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 or higher) so that you can edit your text using a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) interface. This makes editing much easier and should be chosen if you are not very conversant with html code.

You can also control who has access to your stories and media
elements from within the edit preferences option.
You can allow read access to the world or limit access to only those you specify
as ether editors or members of your site. For the purposes of this assignment
you should leave the access to your site as unrestricted to enable your tutor
and peers to view the site. To do this make sure the option Do you want access to your site to be
restricted to editors only is checked as No. You should also leave the options for access to stories, pictures and gems set
at Everybody.

Once you have made all of the desired changes to your editorial preferences, click the Submit button at the bottom of the screen.
