BUGE (Broadening Undergraduate Education) courses
2007 | 2008 | 2009The University of South Australia’s Broadening Undergraduate Education Policy encourages graduates to acquire broad concepts, knowledge and skills beyond those gained through their specialist professional study.
The policy requires that each undergraduate degree or diploma program includes:
- studies in communication and studies in the professional context to the value of six units;
- contrasting study, chosen from one or more discipline categories contrasting with the category of the professional core to the value of nine units.
Matrix of approved contrasting course categories.
Whilst contrasting studies courses may be chosen from a wide range of programs offered across the University, the choice of courses must be approved by program directors prior to enrolment. The courses listed below have been recommended as suitable choices for Broadening Undergraduate Education (BUGE) courses by the divisions offering them. They are listed under their respective division and school heading. Further details on each course are available on the individual course homepage.
