Course details


Understanding social policy and social planning. Planning to address social disadvantage in local communities. Sociological theories of difference: class, age, gender, ethnicity. Understanding sustainable development and its relevance to planning theory and practice. Theories of the risk society, social capital and social inclusion. Power and urban government. Strategic planning and communicative planning as techniques of power.
