Conference approach
What does internationalisation of the curriculum mean in schools and universities?
This one-day conference will combine presentations with discussion and exchange of ideas around this question. It has been planned to facilitate conversations and ongoing collaboration between professionals working in a range of organisations in secondary and tertiary education. One of the key aims of the conference is to encourage cooperation within and across sectors.
Keynote address
A keynote address will be delivered by an internationally recognised expert, Hanneke Teekens, on the topic 'The ideal teacher in the international classroom'.
Throughout the day
Throughout the day perspectives from secondary and tertiary educators will be presented. Participants will be invited to respond to these and to share their approaches to, experiences of, and visions for internationalisation with colleagues from a range of institutions.
The student view
The student view will be an important part of the day, with high school and university students, both local and international, talking about their lived experience of internationalisation at home and abroad.
The conference will finish with a summary of the themes arising from the day and an invitation to join a special interest group to carry forward key issues around internationalisation of the curriculum.
