Outdoor Education provides students with the necessary practical, theoretical and philosophical foundations to meet industry, community and government needs for outdoor education professionals. The program provides a medium for personal development, group development and social change in the discipline of outdoor education which also encompasses the areas of adventure therapy, environmental education, wilderness therapy, adjunct therapy, adventure tourism and eco-tourism. It also provides a basis for preparation for teaching in outdoor education.

In addition to the above electives students undertaking the Major in Outdoor Education may also choose electives from any of the courses constituting the Local and Global Environmental Studies sub-major offered by the School of Education.   
* These electives are only available to students undertaking the Major in Outdoor Education.   

Notes

There are no prerequisites for HLTH 3029 Introduction to Outdoor Leadership, HLTH 1024 Introduction to Outdoor Studies, HLTH 1023 Introduction to Adventure Therapy or HLTH 3022 Wilderness and Adventure Education.
Other courses have prerequisites or co-requisites.  Please contact the Course Coordinator for details.
