My Future is a joint initiative of all State and Territory governments and is an online careers service. The website enables users to search for occupations, courses and programs, industry sectors and education and training providers. Users can identify potential career paths through specific search options such industry group, work interest, learning area or work demands. My Future also includes links to government career initiatives, State based career expos and community career programs. Users can also learn about career planning through the my quiz option. Careers Online
Careers Online is a career training and employment website that provides information and links to training courses, career advice and career and employment web sites around the world. The Careers Online Job Seekers Centre provides access to career related articles, job options and resume building tools. The Job Seekers Workshop assists users to identify a job that suits them, to obtain information on courses and programs that meet their interests and tips on how to get their resume ready. OZJAC
OZJAC is an easy to use computer program that can assist people find answers to their job, course and career questions. The aim of the database is to enable users to make informed career choices and to bring together information on all aspects of accredited courses in Australia. OZJAC also includes information on career planning and different industries. The database is available online or through CD ROM and is used by TAFE, universities, Job Network staff, independent consultants and private employment services as part of their career advisory services. Jobs Alive
Jobs Alive provides career profiles of men and women who love their careers. The website has been developed from the jobs Alive motivational careers program that was run for high school students to provide them with an insight into the working world. The website includes career profiles from a wide range of industries and fields and provides information about what a job is like on a day to day basis and the training and education required to undertake that position. Examples of the occupations covered include architect, army air dispatcher, chef, butcher, florist and computer technician.
The Job Guide
The Job Guide provides an in-depth look at occupations and related education and training pathways. The Guide is produced by the Department of Education Science and Training (DEST) and provides useful information on how to find occupations that best suit you, based on your interests and abilities. To assist users identify suitable occupations there is a list of physical and other demands that is required by each job, the tasks involved and employment prospects in that particular sector.
