The website is managed by the Working Policy Group of the Australian government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and includes links to employment agencies, career services, volunteer work, business and industry schemes. JobSearch
JobSearch website is one of Australia's leading employment websites for job seekers and employers. The website provides information on jobs, working conditions, careers and training and job and volunteering opportunities. Job seekers can register to receive updates on vacant positions that are matched to the skills and experience set out in their resume. The website also provides a link to employment services for job seekers with a disability and/or medical condition and employment services for mature age job seekers. JobSearch also has links to positions in each state and territory of Australia and to employment opportunities in the Commonwealth Government sector including the annual Commonwealth government graduate intake programs.
Graduate Recruitment Programs – Commonwealth Government
Each year Commonwealth government departments recruit graduates as part of their annual recruitment drive. In 2006 thirty nine Commonwealth government departments and agencies ran intake programmes for tertiary graduates. It is important to identify the application criteria and cut off dates for each of the individual programmes as they vary greatly between departments and agencies. Graduate Careers is the official website of the Graduate Career council of Australia (GCCA). This website provides information for graduates to assist them how to go about finding work. The website provides information on self-assessment techniques the importance of networking and how to use the internet and other 'real world' job-seeking resources. The website includes many 'Getting Started' initiatives like the Higher Education Workplace Skills Olympiad (HEWSO) and Willing and Able Mentoring Program (WAM) which are designed to assist students with disabilities obtain skills and contacts. The Graduate Careers website has an employer resource site that links to graduate employers across Australia. Examples of the information on the website include:
