Accessing Resources 

There are a wide range of resources, supports/accommodations available to students with disabilities and or medical conditions in tertiary education. Examples of these resources include adaptive technology, alternative exam assessment and Auslan interpreters. This section of the website looks at how you can access supports/accommodations in tertiary education and identify any supports/accommodations that you may need while studying.

There is no cost to students with disabilities and/or medical conditions to access supports and accommodations that are needed to undertake a course. Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) it is the responsibility of the education provider to make reasonable adjustments so that students with disabilities can participate on an equal footing in education. However the DDA does not require education providers to alter the key academic components of a course.
