The Regional Disability Liaison Officer and Disability Coordination Officer Initiative
The Regional Disability Liaison Officer (RDLO) and Disability Coordinator Officer (DCO) initiative is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST). The role of the officers appointed under this initiative is to enhance post-secondary education, training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The initiative funds twenty two Regional Disability Liaison Officers and Disability Coordination Officers across each State and Territory of Australia. The role of these officers is to provide practical assistance and support for people with disabilities and/or ongoing medical conditions to make the transition into university or TAFE and onto employment. Examples of their role include:
