The Mentor Centre at Magill Campus A1-37
Mentors in yellow shirts have been taking tours and helping new students find their way at school based o-days in February 2009 |
So what is the program all about? In 2009 commencing undergraduate students in the Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences (Div EAS) at Magill, Mawson Lakes and City West will be assigned a mentor to help them negotiate the sometimes daunting task of settling into university life. To learn more about the program check out the links to the left of the screen. What does the mentor program mean for a new student? Students have a friendly face who can help answer the little questions: Where can I get food? What is a tutorial? Who is my Course Coordinator? Students have a friendly face who can point you to the answers for the bigger questions: What subjects am I meant to be doing? How should I research? What is a seminar paper?
All this adds up to you having a contact on campus and some friendly faces when you are just starting out. With the help of your mentor, who can direct you to services- you can make a real success out of your first study period with the university of South Australia. |
If I am a new student, when will I hear from my Mentor?
If you are a brand new student, studying an undergraduate program in the Division of Education, Arts & Social Sciences your mentor will contact you via email. This will be sent to your UniSA email account and will come shortly after classes start.
