Terms and conditions for working with UniSA Career Services

To help the UniSA's Career Services provide you with the best possible service, we request that you read and agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

Advertising vacancies with UniSA Career Services

  1. UniSA Career Services will endeavour to assist employers to locate suitable student and graduate employees by advertising their vacancies. We reserve the right to refuse to advertise a vacancy without giving reason and cannot guarantee responses to advertisements.

  2. In order to ensure that employers receive applications from appropriately qualified candidates, employers should provide details of the job description, person specification and employment conditions. UniSA Career Services reserves the right to edit the vacancy for publication purposes.

  3. The employer must offer at least the national minimum wage for the role in question. We will not advertise positions that fall into the following categories:
  1. commission only

  2. self-employment

  3. employment that requires the successful applicant to establish their own business

  4. employment involving any unpaid trial period or training, except where Federal or State award makes allowances for such arrangement
  5. employment with any organisation that manufactures tobacco products.
  1. Where positions require any financial outlay on the part of the employee (e.g. training, resources and relocation) and/or the application for an ABN this must be fully disclosed in the advertisement.
  1. UniSA Career Services will be happy to advertise specific vacancies on behalf of recruitment agencies where appropriate.

  2. All advertisements placed with UniSA Career Services must comply with the Age Discrimination Act 2004, the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Act 1986, the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 and the Sex Discrimination Act 1984

  3. UniSA Careers Services not enter into contract details between employers and employees.

Employer responsibilities to applicants

  1. Employers recruiting a current student should be aware of their academic obligations and not ordinarily ask full time students to work in excess of 15 hours per week, except during holiday periods.

  2. The employer shall satisfy his or her self as to the suitability of any employee and shall be responsible for checking a student’s eligibility to work and taking up references provided by the employee before engaging the student.

  3. It is the responsibility of the employer to let all candidates know the result of an application as soon as possible and also to inform UniSA Career Services when the post has been filled.

Your contact details

UniSA Careers Services may use employer's contact details to:

  1. clarify vacancy details if necessary

  2. advise them of other services to facilitate recruitment

  3. undertake labour market research

Complaint-handling procedures

Where a complaint is received about an advertiser using this service, the following procedure will apply:

  1. UniSA Career Services will make a record of the complaint.

  2. The advertiser will be contacted for a 'right of reply'.

  3. If the complaint is upheld, the advertiser may be refused further use of this service.

  4. UniSA Career Services will inform the advertiser as soon as possible if an advertisement is withdrawn or access to the service is refuse

Liability

The University of South Australia will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by employers or recruiters arising from, or in any way connected with, services provided by UniSA Career Services.
