How to make the most of the Expo
Taking some time to prepare for the Expo will help you make the most of the event. Career Services will be running sessions on How to Make the Most of the Employment and Careers Expo.
First year students
As a first year student in 2008 you're thinking it's far too early to attend a careers fair … WRONG! The UniSA Employment and Career Expo will help you:
- gain an overview of the kinds of roles available in your discipline area
- make contact with people who may be able to offer you work experience, vacation work and ultimately employment
- continue to develop confidence and skills in speaking to, and negotiating with, employers
- start making decisions about your future it's never too early!
We expect around 100 employers at the UniSA Expo in 2008. They will be happy to talk to you informally to tell you about the opportunities they offer; after all you may be working for them one day!
Second year students
As many employers' closing dates for graduate positions are in March or April, it's a great idea to research your options before you hit your final year. If you’re ready to apply by the end of your second year, you can make sure you're in the running for your dream graduate job.
Final year students
All employers attending the Expo will be actively recruiting, so if you'll be finishing your program at the end of 2008, attending the Expo may result in a job offer! Many employers have closing dates in April or May 2008 for 2009 graduate positions, so it's important to attend the Expo to find out what opportunities are available to you.
