Are Employers Interested in Graduate Qualities?
Employers are most definitely interested in Graduate Qualities.
When recruiting graduates, an appropriate university degree combined with a good job application is only the starting point to becoming the successful candidate. Employers tell us that they are looking for that “extra something” when selecting employees. Remember other applicants for the job are also attempting to succeed in the selection process.
UniSA believes that our Graduate Qualities offer our graduates the ability to stand out from the crowd and to present confidently to a prospective employer - as academically qualified and demonstrating the personal skills needed to operate effectively in a modern workplace.
It’s no coincidence that many, if not all, of the UniSA Graduate Qualities are regularly seen in selection criteria and in position descriptions for graduate jobs.
UniSA’s Graduate Qualities have been developed through strong links with industry and the professions, as part of a solid academic foundation which seeks to better integrating work and learning in UniSA courses.
For more information on what employers are seeking and how you can provide evidence of this, have a look at the section on Selection Criteria
