Staff
Most students who study at UniSA aim to either launch their professional career, change their career path or enhance their employability. The Graduate Qualities provide the foundation for employability at UniSA. You can help your students achieve their career goals and improve your program’s Graduate Destination Survey results by embedding employability in the curriculum and encouraging students to access Career Services support.
Embedding employability in the curriculum
You can maximise your students’ chances of success in the job market by working with Career Services to:
- embed Career Management Skills in the curriculum of your course or program
- provide opportunities for students to engage in Work Integrated Learning activities within the curriculum
- make use of the portfolio tool Transcript 2 for students to record their learning experiences
- provide other discipline-specific information, events and resources (for example, employer forums, mock interview workshops, labour market information).
We also draw on the expertise of the Academic Developer team when working with you in your curriculum.
Accessing Career Services support
- Significant projects are negotiated by the Divisions through the Service Agreement process.
- Service requests such as support with organising an employer event can be made using the Career Service request form.
Career Services support to students
In addition to working closely with academic staff, Career Services provides direct support to students through:
- comprehensive online resources on the Career Services website
- emailing vacancies and events advertised on MyCareerPlan to relevant students
- organising employer events, including the annual UniSA Employment and Careers Expo
- delivering workshops aimed at developing a wide range of career management skills
- one-on-one consultations through Learning Connection offices on each campus.
If you have ideas or suggestions about how we can continue to enhance the employability of our graduates, please contact Frederick Stokes-Thompson on ext. 21323.
