- Graduate Qualities - In a nutshell - 5 minute overview
The University of South Australia is an applied University. Our graduates are destined for particular disciplines and fields of work. To work as professionals, our graduates require more than content knowledge related to a specific discipline.
Graduates who begin practice will be expected to:
- apply content knowledge to solve problems within their workplaces
- communicate effectively, and work productively either independently, or in work teams, with other professionals and the community
- engage with members of society which is diverse in language and culture and practice within the ethics of their respective professions
- appreciate that their body of knowledge about their discipline will quickly become outdated - and therefore have the ability to evaluate their current knowledge and skills and decide what they need to do to up-skill.
The graduate qualities of the University of South Australia are the difference between discipline knowledge and the practice of a professional.
The profiling of graduate qualities at UniSA identifies this relationship between education and work so that:
- graduates can provide information about their educational experiences to potential employers
- employers know what to expect from our graduates
- accrediting bodies can understand and measure the validity of the program.
