Continuing staff
Academic development services for continuing staff in relation to teaching and learning are negotiated annually through service agreements for the Divisions, and the Centre for Regional Engagement. These reflect the changing teaching and learning priorities of Divisions and Schools. Activities include individual and small group consultations, larger teaching and learning projects (such as the implementation project for the new Teaching and Learning Framework, STEP 2010) and specific workshops.
In addition:
- Academic development staff at Learning Connection can be contacted for ad hoc queries related to teaching and learning and support for teaching awards and grants
- Online advisers provide training in using UniSAnet applications and some social software tools
- The Carrick Exchange can be used to search for examples of excellent teaching and learning.
- Continuing staff can be supported to complete Graduate Certificate in Education (University Teaching).
- Bi-annual Student Engagement Swap Shops, 3 hour interactive sessions where staff share effective teaching strategies, are available for staff who have previously participated in Teaching @ UniSA.
- Online resources to support teaching practice development and research supervision are provided through Learning Connection's web site.
- LearningFast is a completely interactive online learning software to learn Microsoft applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Project, Outlook and more.
- Human resources provide additional development opportunities for academic staff - that are summarised monthly. Your participation in these sessions is recorded within your Human Resources records (accessed through UniSAinfo).
