The Tutoring @ UniSA workshop is a 3 hour face to face session designed to improve the small-group teaching skills of academic staff.

Teaching approaches
- Participation in discussions
- Problem solving
- Guiding and facilitating
- Effective strategies that encourage learning
- Finding out what is working for students
- Developing teaching skills through using feedback
Structuring the tutorial
- Planning for success
- Judging how much you can effectively cover
- Picking up the bits that are missed
- Structuring in the GQs students need to learn (study skills, listening skills, working with others, problem-solving, etc.)
Tutorial dynamics:
- Strategies for keeping the peace
- Encouraging students to make the rules
- Strategies for involving all students
- Encouraging the quiet ones, shushing the noisy ones
- Establishing networks
- Using peer learning
- Group activity learning

Registration details
Multiple workshops are held on each campus at the beginning of study period 2 and 5.
