Adaptive technology suites

Accessing the ATS

Students who wish to use the Adaptive Technology Suites must be registered to use them by the Learning Connection Disability Service. Disability Service staff will introduce new users to the facilities and arrange training for students where required.

ATS facilities can be booked ahead during library open hours for the current study period at the library loans desk or by phone. If you are likely to need assistance to access the suite, inform the library when you make your booking. Provide your name and ID and specify the time for which the room is requested. Bookings can be made for up to 4 hours. Note that if you are more than 15 minutes late, the booking may be given to another student

Using ATS Computers

All UniSA students are expected to have some basic PC skills and be familiar with basic word processing packages and operating systems such as Windows. Students who need assistance to develop basic PC skills can access LearningFast training package online through Learning Connection

ATS computers operate in the same computer environment as the University's pool computers with additional hardware and software as outlined below.

The PC should already be operating on arrival with no need to power on.

At the end of any session double click on the logout icon.

Moving the mouse or pressing any key should be enough to bring the PC to life from its standby mode

The PC restores all default settings after a work session and any documents or files created for a work session should be saved to floppy disk or a RWCD. (Rewriteable CD)

Any files left on the machine will be overwritten when a work session is completed.
