The Adult and Community Education Studies major provides an opportunity for undergraduates to undertake a minor, sub-major and major study in aspects of community activism and social change within an organisation, a community or across an education or industry system. It combines a minor study with sub-major and major courses which collectively provide a background to social movements, teaching and learning in diverse contexts, and research and policy issues in and about social change through learning and education processes.

- The first three courses listed in the Minor articulate with the national VET qualification Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA04). Students who have completed this or the prior qualification Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (BSZ TP) and have received credit for this in their current program should contact the stream coordinator for advice on alternative course choices.
