Majors, minors/sub-majors information
2008 | 2009 | 2010Literary Practice
Type:
Sub-Major, Minor
Location:
Magill
The sub-major and minor in Literary Practice provide students with a sound knowledge in the analysis of canonical and non-canonical literary texts within the critical paradigms of the ‘new humanities’. The focus is on a range of texts and on issues relating to literariness, literary practice in social and cultural contexts, and on critical perspectives on the reception and production of texts. Literary Practice indicates the role and function of texts in social and cultural contexts and the orientation to the critical appraisal of reading and writing practices in the world where the technologies of text production and reception are changing.
Sub-major: students must complete 27 units (4 x 4.5 plus 1 x 9 unit courses). The three core courses must be completed.
Minor: students must complete 18 units (4 x 4.5 courses). Two core courses must be completed, not including the 9 unit Level 3 course.
