Religion Studies is typically interdisciplinary in nature, involving both the history of religion, and a range of approaches to the study of religion including sociology, psychology and philosophy of religion. It focuses on the phenomenology of religion involving a sympathetic description and analysis of religion phenomena from a wide range of religions. Religion Studies enables students to pursue an open, non-partisan investigation of religion. The stream provides a broad introduction to the field of religion, approaches to the study of religion, various religious traditions and enables students to specialise in the study of major areas of religion studies which may be appropriate to their particular professional interests.
