Asian Studies introduces students to the study of the cultures, history and politics of Asia. It is designed to provide students with a broad overview of Asia, to allow students to focus on Asia’s civilisations and its historical ties with Australia and Europe, and to raise students’ awareness of the important role of contemporary Asia in global trade, international business and international relations.

Notes
- Students may take Asian Studies courses as electives, a minor or cognate of 4 courses or a general studies sub-major of 6 courses.
- Students who are completing the professional major in International Studies shall not include POLI 2020 Globalisation and Regionalism in an Asian Studies sub-major or minor.
- All courses are available as BUGE courses (prerequisites will be waived).
