The English as an Additional Language courses are designed for students for whom English is a foreign language (international students) and students of English as a Second Language who have complete SACE Stage 2 or equivalent study. These courses provide a pathway of English language study or specific courses for students which aim to:

extend their spoken and written communication capabilities from an intermediate to an advanced level

develop their performance in a range of academic tasks in their fields of interest

analyse the role of English in their specific discipline
-
develop their understanding and application of linguistic and intercultural analyses within a specific professional environment.

Notes
Students complete 36 units of courses for the Major, 27 units for the Sub-major and 18 units for the Minor. Students may choose electives in place of the Professional Language Application Projects. These electives may be chosen from a related field and must be approved by the Program Director.
