ABSTUDY

Is financial assistance provided to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander secondary and full or part time tertiary students who are studying an approved course and are not receiving other government assistance. The payment is also available to full-time New Apprentices. ABSTUDY consists of a fortnightly living allowance as well as additional components to help with associated costs. ABSTUDY is available to students studying for a Masters degree or a Doctorate.

If your disability affects your ability to study full time you may still be eligible to receive ABSTUDY as long as your workload does not fall below 25% of the normal full time load. To find out more information about ABSTUDY contact Centrelink on 13 1021 or log onto their website.
