Newstart Allowance
The Australian government may provide financial assistance if you are unemployed and looking for work or require financial assistance while participating in activities designed to increase your chances of finding work. Newstart is available to people over the age of 21 years and under pension age. The Newstart allowance is subject to conditions such as an income and assets test and a willingness to enter into a preparing for work agreement.
