Transcript - Justene Knight - Study supports

I knew I was never going to be able to sit an exam, the way my dyslexia works it means that

an exam situation would just not be feasible so I negotiated with my lecturers to find a whole

range of other ways to have my skills and abilities tested that didn’t require me to sit an exam.

So for example I may write another essay, I gave a verbal presentation to one lecturer, a group

of us in one of the courses I did combined together and we actually recreated a 1920’s radio

show so that basically required us to do a whole lot of research, to write the radio show then to

basically produce it.  So I looked at a whole lot of things.

I needed note takers because in lectures I wasn’t able to hear what the lecturer was saying and

take notes and actually have anything that made sense. I needed to be able to take my library

books out for much longer than other students because it takes me that much longer to read and

absorb a book.
