I would
highly recommend any student sort of putting their hand up for any
opportunities that
came along, to put themselves onto things like committees, to just try
different things, because
it means that you start to communicate with a range of people.
It also
means that you that start to explore quite diverse career paths. So the
degree you may be
doing you may not end up doing the work in that specific degree but you can
look, I suppose laterally,
at what opportunities are around.
So for me I now work in human resources, I have a specialty in equity and
diversity. So a lot of the study
I did, the communication I had to do with a lot of people has meant that I
am able to understand and to
communicate with a wide variety of people to help them to understand and to
look at strategic ways.
Also, of course, the research that you do as a student meant that the
research I now do as a
professional person – it’s easy!
