On Arrival Reception Service
On Arrival Reception is a free service available to all new international students and their immediate dependents: partner (husband / wife) and children, when arriving in Adelaide to study at UniSA for the first time. You can arrange to be met at the airport, bus station or train terminal and be taken to your accommodation.
On Arrival Reception must be organised at least 3 days/72 hours before you arrive
in Adelaide. To organise On Arrival Reception, please complete the
online booking form. which requires a UniSA Student ID number.
Your login details are provided in the offer letter sent to you by
the University. However, if you do not have a UniSA Student ID number, please fill in the
following booking form.
Note: If you are arriving in Adelaide between mid February and
early March, and you
require temporary accommodation, you are strongly advised to book it as
early as possible. Adelaide hosts a number of popular events at this
time of year.
Temporary Accommodation
Temporary accommodation can be organised by the university or by you. If you require information about temporary accommodation you can visit the UniSA Accommodation Services website.
Note: If you no longer require the booked accommodation,
please remember to cancel the reservation as soon as possible.
Upon arrival: things to do
Please note that the information provided below is relevant only to students arriving from overseas to Adelaide Airport.
Once you arrive in Adelaide, before leaving the plane ensure that you
have completed The Australian Immigration and Customs Declaration forms.
Make sure that you have all your hand luggage with you. Australia has very
strict quarantine laws which ensure the protection of agriculture and tourism industries.
You must declare for inspection all food, plant material
and animal products on arrival in Australia to ensure they are free of pests
and diseases. To avoid unnecessary
delays and possible fines when you enter Australia, please read the information

website.
Immigration
As you leave the plane follow the signs for arriving passengers. Also you need to have the following documents ready as you reach a number of Immigration Check Points:- Passport
- Incoming Passenger Card
Baggage
After clearing immigration, proceed to the baggage collection area of the terminal. It is important to pick up the right bags that belongs to you by checking luggage tags. During this time you may notice Customs or Agricultural Officers using 'sniffer dogs' to detect drugs of foodstuffs. If the dog comes near you please remain calm, the dogs are highly trained and will not hurt you.Customs

It is advisable to exchange money before you leave the Airport terminal. Approximately $100 AUD should cover some initial expenses. Money exchange agencies are available on the ground level of Adelaide Airport.
On Arrival Reception Meeting Point
If you have arranged On Arrival Reception at the Adelaide Airport you will be met by a University of South Australia representative next to the South Australian Tourist Information Desk (see image above).The Information Desk is located on the lower ground floor of the airport, next to the main airport exit doors, and the elevators (Adelaide Airport Map PDF 516 KB). The University representative will be holding a UniSA sign or a sign with your name.
Please note that the staff at the South Australia
Tourist Information desk can be approached should you need any further

While it is important that you arrive in time for your orientation to UniSA for International students program, if you wish to arrive well before orientation then you need to be aware that you will only have access to limited resources.
