The guidelines to writing the report suggest that it will have a number of sections as indicated by the dot points and suggested subheadings. A report usually also has an introduction and a conclusion.
Think how you might divide your 1000 words so that there is a reasonable balance between the various parts. Your lecturers have given you some indication of their expectations by providing you with suggested word counts for each part.
Reports usually have headings and sub-headings so that specific information in them can be readily found. Unlike with an essay, a reader of a report may just want to read particular bits. This means two things:
What key words can you use as major headings? Within each of the two large sections, what are the main points you will write about? What sub-headings will you use for these?
Work out approximately how much you will need to write on each part.
These headings and sub-headings provide the framework or plan for your report.
