Aim

This program provides a broad and fundamental understanding of the theory and practice of both management and computing and information technology which prepares graduates for a professional career in the computing or the information services industries. It prepares students for the application of computer systems in commerce, industry or government and provides a professional level of education for potential and current managers.

For international applicants for whom English is a second language, the minimum English language requirements are:

International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): obtain a minimum overall score of 6.0 obtained within the last two years or corresponding results from an equivalent test such as TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA; or

Successful completion of a secondary qualification in Australia within the last two years; or
Successful completion of at least one year of tertiary study in Australia within the last two years; or
Successful completion of one year of secondary or tertiary study conducted and completed in English within the last two years in a country in which:

Please note that holders of a degree in computing and/or management are precluded from entry to this program.

Content/structure

This program consists of core and elective courses in Computer and Information Science, a core of Business and Management courses and a chosen Management major. It requires the completion of 144 units of study as outlined below.

Professional Recognition

This program is professionally accredited by the Australian Computer Society.

Honours

Graduates of this degree may be eligible to progress to the Honours degree in either Computer and Information Science or Management.

Fee information

Fees for Domestic students: Commonwealth Supported
Fees for Commonwealth Supported Students are calculated at the course level. Click on individual courses in the schedule below to determine total program fees.

Fees for International students: $AU 19,900 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2010.
Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units.
Fees for International students are determined one year in advance and are subject to variation.

Notes

    1. Students may select approved elective courses from the School of Computer and Information Science provided all prerequisites are met. 
    2. Credit is granted for relevant studies completed at a tertiary educational institution at an equivalent level. Maximum credit granted is half the courses of the program (ie 72 units). Furthermore, students are required to undertake at least 36 units from the computing component and at least 36 units of the management component of the program.
    3. Students who have studied either course in the following list, will be deemed to have completed the core course requirement only for the purposes of: transition, program transfer, double degrees and transnational programs where a limited range of courses may be available; and granting of credit for related diploma programs such as SAIBT and Eynesbury
