First six weeks in the Division of Business
Aim
To prepare graduates for a professional level career in property valuation, management, development, investment, research and sales.
Entry requirements
Applicants are required to have:
-
Qualified for the SACE; and
-
Recorded achievement in five SACE subjects taken at Stage 2 level; and
-
Included at least four Stage 2 subjects which are approved Higher Education Selection Subjects (HESS);
- Obtained a competitive TER.
Alternatively, the minimum educational requirements may be met by those who have:

Completed the equivalent secondary education qualifications as required for university entry under SACE;
-
Completed or partly completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution;
-
Completed at least four Open Universities Australia (OUA) courses at the appropriate level;
-
Completed a recognised diploma or advanced diploma from TAFE;
-
Completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma;
-
Completed the University Foundation Studies program with a competitive GPA;
-
Qualified for Special Entry.
Minimum English language entry requirements: coursework programs
The minimum English language entry requirements for international students who speak English as a foreign language are detailed below. It should be noted that some programs may specify higher English language entry requirements. These will be indicated in relevant program documentation.
Applicants are required to meet at least one of the English language entry requirements listed. Possession of one or more of these qualifications, in addition to the academic entry requirements does not, in itself, guarantee a place at the University of South Australia. Applications are considered on an individual basis and selection is competitive.
Where previous study/work experience was conducted in English, the application must be accompanied by certified documentation from the educational institution/employer certifying that the language of instruction/employment was English.

Note 1: Results from IELTS and TOEFL are valid for two years.
Note 2: The University, through UniSA International, maintains a list of countries where English is commonly used and which would satisfy this criteria. This may include particular educational institutions within a given non-English speaking country where English is the language of instruction.
Content/structure
Students undertake the division core courses all the required courses in Property and appropriate electives. The program requires completion of courses totalling 108 units.
Professional Recognition
Graduates who complete the program are eligible for Graduate Membership of the Australian Property Institute. If graduates subsequently complete two years of supervised valuation experience under a Certified Practising Valuer of the Australian Property Institute then graduates become eligible to sit an Australian Property Institute oral examination for elevation to Associate Member of the Australian Property Institute with Certified Practising Valuer status. Graduates upon completion of the program are also eligible to act as a real estate salesperson and can apply for membership of the Real Estate Institute of South Australia.

Fees for Domestic students: Commonwealth SupportedFees for Commonwealth Supported Students are calculated at the course level. Click on individual courses in the schedule below to determine total program fees.
Fees for International students: $AU 18,880 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2010.
Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units.
Fees for International students are determined one year in advance and are subject to variation.

- Students taking a double degree may complete the courses Statistics for Business (MATH 1052) and Forecasting and Business Analysis (ECON 2007) in place of these two courses where necessary.
- Students undertaking a Property Marketing Minor or a double degree with Bachelor of Management (Marketing) may take the course Market Research (MARK 2020) in place of this course.
- Students who have completed the Bachelor of Business (Property) degree may undertake the postgraduate course Real Estate Business and Marketing Management G (BUSS5223) in order to meet the educational requirements for registration as a Land Agent in South Australia. This postgraduate course can be taken as either a non award postgraduate course or as part of a Graduate Certificate in Property and will only be offered subject to demand, and may be offered externally only, or as an intensive short course.
- Students who achieve a grade lower than Pass Level 2 (P2) in the following courses will not receive professional recognitition and will not be eligible for the professional membership/accreditation with the Australian Property Institute (as of November 2005).

- Students seeking professional recognition with the Australian Property Institute are required to study the course Construction 1 (CIVE 1001) or an equivalent course from the Division of Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment.
