Aim
The program prepares students for careers in a wide range of Business Information Management areas, as: technically skilled records managers, archivists, librarians, preservation managers, internet/intranet coordinators, information analysts and administrators, as well as knowledge and information officers at graduate and postgraduate levels.
Entry requirements
Applicants would normally have a completed recognised Bachelor or equivalent qualification. Applicants with an equivalent qualification with a Grade Point Average of 5 or better will also be eligible for entry.
For international applicants for whom English is a second language, the minimum English language requirements are:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): Minimum score of 6.0 in Reading and Writing subscores and minimum overall score of 6.5 obtained within the last two years or corresponding results from an equivalent test such as TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA; or
- Successful completion of a tertiary qualification at diploma level or above completed in Australia within the last two years; or
- Successful completion of at least two years of tertiary study at diploma level or above conducted and completed in English within the last five years in a country in which English is commonly used, as determined by the University. Where the study in English was more than five years ago, this requirement may be satisfied by subsequent and recent work experience of two or more years duration in a setting where English is the language of business subject to satisfactory evidence as determined by the Program Director.

The program comprises 36 units from one of the three specialisations listed for the Graduate Diploma in Business Information Management.
Fee information

Fees for International students: $AU 21,250 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2011.
Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units.
Fees for International students are determined one year in advance and are subject to variation.

Rules
- The program requires the successful completion of 36 units of core courses from one of the three specialisations provided in the schedule.
- Students who undertake CIS Research Methods (INFT 4017) will have the choice of the ICT Masters Project 1 (INFT 5023) and 2 (INFT 5024); or the Masters Computing Minor Thesis 1 (COMP 5003) and 2 (COMP 5003) when enrolling in the Master of Business Information Management.
- Students will not normally be permitted to switch from one specialisation within the Graduate Diploma to another, without the permission of the Program Director.

Students are able to study on either a full-time or part-time basis, fully online or face-to-face at the City West campus.

Not all electives will necessarily be available in any one calendar year and the decision on whether or not to offer a particular elective will depend on student demand.

Students who successfully complete an equivalent qualification will receive credit, subject to approval of the Program Director.
- Credit will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Program Director.
