Aim

The program is designed to provide advanced studies and experience in executing research projects in areas relevant to the field of arts and cultural management, reflecting the diverse interests of graduates in this field.

Entry requirements

Applicants will normally meet one of the following requirements:

  1. Undergraduate degree; or
     
  2. Graduate Diploma in Management (Art and Cultural Management) from the University of South Australia; or 

  3. A post graduate qualifications in Arts Management (or equivalent) from a recognised university.

Minimum English language entry requirements: coursework programs

The minimum English language entry requirements for international students who speak English as a foreign language are detailed below. It should be noted that some programs may specify higher English language entry requirements. These will be indicated in relevant program documentation.

Applicants are required to meet at least one of the English language entry requirements listed. Possession of one or more of these qualifications, in addition to the academic entry requirements does not, in itself, guarantee a place at the University of South Australia. Applications are considered on an individual basis and selection is competitive.

Where previous study/work experience was conducted in English, the application must be accompanied by certified documentation from the educational institution/employer certifying that the language of instruction/employment was English.

Other Qualifications

·Successful completion of a tertiary qualification at diploma level or above completed in Australia within the last two years; or

·Successful completion of at least two years of tertiary study at diploma level or above conducted and completed in English within the last five years in a country in which English is commonly used, as determined by the University (see Note 2). Where the study in English was more than five years ago, this requirement may be satisfied by subsequent and recent work experience of at least two years duration in a setting where English is the language of business subject to satisfactory evidence as determined by the University.

Note 1: Results from IELTS and TOEFL are valid for two years.

Note 2: The University, through UniSA International, maintains a list of countries where English is commonly used and which would satisfy this criteria. This may include particular educational institutions within a given non-English speaking country where English is the language of instruction.

The Master of Business (Arts and Cultural Management) is a 54 unit coursework Masters consisting of:

Fees for Domestic students: Commonwealth Supported
Fees for Commonwealth Supported Students are calculated at the course level. Click on individual courses in the schedule below to determine total program fees.

Fees for International students: $AU 19,920 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2010.
Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units.
Fees for International students are determined one year in advance and are subject to variation.

Rules

  1. When choosing either elective stream or research courses stream, students must consult the Program Director prior to the 3rd year (or equivalent) enrolment. Students wishing to complete the research courses must have attained a Credit average in the preceding courses.

  2. Students choosing the elective stream must have completed at least six core courses prior to undertaking electives. Students may choose appropriate electives at a masters' level from across the Division of Business in consultation with the Program Director.

  3. Students undertaking the program full-time condense Years 1 and 2 together and Year 3 into one half year.

  4. Credit will not normally be granted for any courses unless completed in a postgraduate program of study in a recognised university. Credit is granted subject to the approval of the Program Director.

  5. Graduates of the Graduate Diploma in Management (Arts) are eligible to be admitted directly into the Masters and will be given credit for the 8 courses already completed. Those wishing to undertake the research courses must have attained a Credit average in the Graduate Diploma program.

  6. Students must enrol in both Research Project (Arts and Cultural Management) A and B as they form part of a cohesive research project culminating in the preparation of the minor thesis.

  1. This program is Commonwealth Supported Place (previously HECS) based for Australian citizens and fee paying for international students.
