Aim

To prepare ICT professionals for senior roles within organisations, including the role of Chief Information Officer.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have completed an Honours degree; or Bachelors degree with honours of at least 2A standard in a related discipline; or an appropriate Masters Degree; or equivalent and 5 years professional experience in a relevant industry; and
Applicants will normally be required to have access to an organisation within which the required case based research can be undertaken.
Applicants are required to submit as part of their admission application a letter from their chosen organisation authorising the applicant to undertake research on their company for the duration of the applicants program of study.

In addition, International students who speak English as a foreign language must have obtained one of the following standards within the last two years prior to admission:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): Minimum score of 6.0 in Reading and Writing sub scores and minimum overall score of 7.0 obtained within the last two years or corresponding results from an equivalent test such as TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA; or

Successful completion of a tertiary qualification at diploma level or above completed in Australia within the last two years; or
Successful completion of at least two years of tertiary study at diploma level or above conducted and completed in English within the last five years in a country in which:

Where the study in English was more than five years ago, this requirement may be satisfied by subsequent and recent work experience of at least two years duration in a setting where English is the language of business subject to satisfactory evidence as determined by the University.

Content/structure

This 108 unit program consists of

Three courses (27 units) in which the case based studies from previous study periods are drawn together to produce one or more publishable journal articles excepted for publication or examined externally.

Fee information

Fees for Domestic students: Commonwealth Supported
Fees for Commonwealth Supported Students are calculated at the course level. Click on individual courses in the schedule below to determine total program fees.

Fees for International students: $AU 20,000 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2010.
Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units.
Fees for International students are determined one year in advance and are subject to variation.

Rules

  1. Students must obtain the approval of the Program Director for their choice of electives in the first year of the schedule.These electives are normally selected from those listed above in the schedule, however students may also select elective courses from other postgraduate programs with the approval of the program director.
  2. Students enrolled part time must take ICT Case Studies before any other courses from the second and third year of the schedule.

Notes

  1. Not all courses will be presented each study period or year.
  2. Part time students should complete ICT Case Publication 1 before ICT Case Publication 2.
