Aim
The program is designed to provide advanced coursework leading to a professionally-recognised qualification in Urban and Regional Planning.
Entry requirements
Applicants will normally hold a degree or recognised equivalent qualification.
For International applicants for whom English is a second language, the minimum English language requirements are:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): Minimum score of 6.0 in Reading and Writing subscores and minimum overall score of 6.0 obtained within the last two years or corresponding results from an equivalent test such as TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA; or
Successful completion of a tertiary qualification at diploma level or above completed in Australia within the last two years; or
Successful completion of two or more years of tertiary study at diploma level or above conducted and completed in English within the last five years in a country in which:
- English is an official language; or
- English is commonly used, as determined by the University.
Where the study in English was more than five years ago, this requirement may be satisfied by subsequent and recent work experience of two or more years duration in a setting where English is the language of business subject to satisfactory evidence as determined by the Program Director.
Content/structure
The Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning requires the completion of courses totalling 36 units. Courses are listed in the program schedule below.
Fee information
Fees for Domestic students: Commonwealth SupportedFees for Commonwealth Supported Students are calculated at the course level. Click on individual courses in the schedule below to determine total program fees.
Fees for International students: $AU 19,500 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2010.
Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units.
Fees for International students are determined one year in advance and are subject to variation.

Notes
- The Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning is available full-time over one academic year or part-time over two academic years.
- Students are required to take 1 elective course with a value of 4.5 units. Electives are listed in the Schedule. Not all electives will necessarily be available in any one calendar year and the decision on whether or not to offer a particular elective will depend on student demand. Students may be allowed to substitute electives from other university programs with the approval of the Program Director.
- Students enrolling in Sustainable Urban Design Workshop ARCH 5030 should normally have completed Sustainable Urban Design ARCH 5013
