Student Registration
Student registration with the State Registration Board is required prior to enrolment in this program. See the requirements on the Pharmacy Board of South Australia web-site. Students who fail to register or who do not meet registration criteria and are refused registration by the Board, or who have their registration rescinded during the program, will be unable to continue in the program.

Police Check
All students in the Division of Health Sciences who undertake field or clinical placements, or participate in University clinics as part of their program, must have had a police clearance prior to the commencement of any placement or clinic activity.
Aim
To produce clinical pharmacists capable of providing specialist pharmaceutical services in hospitals and other clinical environments, thereby enhancing the quality use of medicine. Graduates will be able to take a leading role in the decision making process of drug and drug product selection for individual patients, provide specialist drug information and education programs to patients and health care providers, effectively monitor patient therapy and conduct and evaluate clinical research.
Entry requirements
A person may apply for the course work Masters degree if the person fulfils the following criteria:
Australian students
(a) is a registered pharmacist in a State or Territory of Australia;
(b) is, in the opinion of the Program Director and the Head of School a suitable candidate.
International Students
(a) holds an award from a tertiary institution which is at least equivalent to a Bachelor of Pharmacy;
(b) has at least two years experience as a registered pharmacist;
(c) is, in the opinion of the Program Director and Head of School a suitable candidate.
English language entry requirements
In addition, International students who speak English as a foreign language must satisfy the following:
International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): Overall score of 7.0 obtained within the last two years or corresponding results from an equivalent test such as TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA;
OR
Successful completion of a tertiary qualification at diploma level or above completed in Australia within the last two years;
OR
Successful completion of at least two years of tertiary study at diploma level or above conducted and completed in English within the last five years in a country in which;
- English is an official language as determined by the University.
Where the study in English was more than five years ago, this requirement may be satisfied by subsequent and recent work experience of at least two years duration in a setting where English is the language of business subject to satisfactory evidence as determined by the University.
Special Requirements
Experience as a registered pharmacist in a patient care environment.
Background knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and disease pathophysiology is assumed.
Content/structure
The program consists of 54 units of study and has been structured to be completed over 1.5 years full time or part time equivalent, the courses being listed in the program schedule below. A research project will provide a practical basis for the conduct and undertaking of clinical research. The program also includes a Medicine Clerkship to provide the student with experiential education in a clinical pharmacy practice.

Fees for International students: $AU 20,275 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2010.
Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units.
Fees for International students are determined one year in advance and are subject to variation.

Rules
- Police Check: All students in the Division of Health Sciences who undertake field or clinical placements, or participate in University clinics as part of their program, must have had a police clearance prior to the commencement of any placement or clinic activity.
- Student registration with the State Registration Board is required prior to enrolment in this program.
- Credit for previous studies or exemption from work within courses may be granted in accordance with University policy. Maximum credit allowed is normally one third of the total units of the program.
- Graduates of the l8 unit Graduate Certificate or 36 unit Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy wishing to upgrade to the Master of Clinical Pharmacy (54 units) will be granted full credit for either previous award.
