Aim

The program is designed to prepare the graduate for a career as a professional pilot and meets the academic requirements of the relevant professional bodies for recognition as an air pilot.

For international applicants for whom English is a second language, the minimum English language requirements are:

International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): Obtain a minimum overall score of 6.0 obtained within the last two years or corresponding results from an equivalent test such as TOEFL or the appropriate Academic English language level delivered at CELUSA; or

Successful completion of a secondary qualification in Australia within the last two years; or
Successful completion of at least one year of tertiary study in Australia within the last two years; or
Successful completion of one year of secondary or tertiary study conducted and completed in English within the last two years in a country in which:

Content/structure

The degree requires completion of courses totalling 108 units.

Fee information

Fees for Domestic students: Commonwealth Supported
Fees for Commonwealth Supported Students are calculated at the course level. Click on individual courses in the schedule below to determine total program fees.

Fees for International students: $AU 19,000 per 1.0 EFTSL for students commencing in 2010.
Fees are calculated on a per Unit basis with 1.0 EFTSL = 36 Units.
Fees for International students are determined one year in advance and are subject to variation.

Notes

  1. Students seeking part-time study should discuss their study program with the Program Director prior to enrolment.
  2. Australian Government policy requires that flying training not be a compulsory component of the degree program.
  3. If students elect to undertake integrated flying training, then:
    • Australian Government legislation requires the passing of a medical examination as a prerequisite to flight training
    • the cost of the flight training must be paid by the student
    • although the normal study period is 13 weeks, students may be required to attend during the breaks for flight training
    • students who undertake flight training are required to satisfy the standard of dress and behaviour prescribed by the Flying School.
  4. BUGE elective is a free elective to be selected from any discipline area approved as contrasting with the discipline category of the professional program (see http://www.unisanet.unisa.edu.au/MajorMinor/DisplayMajor.asp).
