Notes
- To meet the requirements of the Broadening Undergraduate Education policy of the University, the program schedule contains two "BUGE courses". These courses must not be computing, mathematics or science courses.
- At the end of Year 3, students deemed capable of attaining an overall honours standing in the program will be permitted to enrol in the honours courses in the fourth year, in accordance with Academic Policy A42. These students will enrol in the honours project courses and the CIS Research Methods course. Students successfully completing this program may be awarded a degree with honours for meritorious performance in the program, in accordance University policy.
- The elective courses can be classified as those that can be taken in the third year of the schedule, those that should normally be taken in the fourth year of the schedule, and Honours level electives that can only be taken in the fourth year of the schedule. Students intending to graduate with Honours must take the course CIS Research methods, and take 36 units of elective courses, of which 9 units must be Honours level electives, and at least 4.5 additional units must be either fourth year or Honours electives. Other students must take at least 40.5 units of elective courses, of which at least 18 units must be fourth year or Honours electives.
- The electives are grouped into sub-discipline specialties. Except with the permission of the program director, students may select electives from three specialties, and must take at least 3 electives from one of the specialties.
- Not all elective courses will be available every year. Students may, with the permission of the Program Director, take elective courses not listed in the schedule above.
- Program and Course Availability. The program is located at Mawson Lakes campus. However, some courses will also be available at the Magill campus or the City West campus of the University. Some courses, particularly earlier year courses, are offered in both Study Period 2 and Study Period 5 and/or in distance mode and/or at intensive summer schools.
