Mallow Lane

15 November 1819

2 o'clock p.m.

Reverend dear Sir,

The Steam boat sailed this morning, at an earlier hour than I was aware of. I am therefore obliged to put off my visit to Cove until tomorrow. I thought you would have given me a call this morning, perhaps the number of houses inhabited in Mallow Lane by persons of the name McCarthy has put you astray. My lodgings are at Mr McCarthy's, a grocer, nearly the north end of that lane.

Will you oblige me with your company this evening and take a glass of punch with me? I think it will be useful for us to talk over the arrangements we must make for our long voyage.

I am sincerely yours

P. Conolly
