Governor Macquarie per Secretary? to J.J. Therry. 20 October 1821

Governor Macquarie has to acknowledge the receipt of the note addressed to him by the Rev Mr Therry and in reply begs to inform him that he will be very happy to have the honor of laying the first stone of the intended Roman Catholic Chapel, providing it can be conveniently done a few days sooner than that mentioned by Mr Therry, the Governor being obliged to leave Sydney for Port Macquarie on Tuesday the 30th. instant,but will be very happy to perform the required ceremony on Monday the 29th. instant.
