I George Cartwright of Hobart Town Van Diemen's Land, Notary Public by Royal Authority duly admitted and sworn, do hereby certify and attest to all to whom it may concern that the several paper writings hereunto annexed Viz, a letter dated Secretary's Office 11th. October 1824 signed John Montague, Secretary, addressed to the Rev Mr. Coote and another dated Secretary's Office 1st November 1824 signed John Montague Secretary, addressed to the Rev Mr Coote, another letter dated Government House Hobart Town 7th. February 1825 signed George Arthur and addressed to the Reverend Mr Coote, a note dated Secretary's Office 11th. March 1825 from Captain Montague addressed to Mr John Cassidy Old Beach are true and faithful copies of the Original Letters and that the letter hereunto annexed dated Downing Street London 28 August 1823 and signed R. Wilmot Horton is a true and faithful copy of a Paper writing, purporting to be a copy of the Original Letter. I the said Notary having this day compared the four just mentioned Copies with the Original Letters and the last mentioned copy with the Paper writing purported to be a copy of the Original Letter with John Barton and found the said several copies to agree with the said Original Letters and copies in every particular. Act whereof being required of me the said Notary, I have granted these presents under my Notarial form and seal of office to serve and avail as occasion shall or may require.
Done and Passed at Hobart Town aforesaid this fifteenth day of October in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Eighteen hundred and twenty five in the presence of Edward Wilkinson and John Barton, Witnesses
