Sir,
I do myself the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 2nd. August last, alluding to the conduct of Mr Coote who, it appears, has unauthorizedly exercised in the Colony the functions of a Roman Catholic Priest.
And I am much gratified to find that you are satisfied with the support which I found it my duty to render to the Reverend Mr Conolly, who is charged with the Superintendence of the Catholic Church in Van Diemen's Land.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient humble servant
George Arthur
