5th. July 1826
My Lord,
Above I have the pleasure of transmitting the copy of a letter which arrived from Lord Bathurst's office last night. Dr Poynter left London yesterday and will be absent till the 17th. July. His Lordship is now at his College superintending the goodly work of a Spiritual Retreat with his Clergy.
Enclosed your Lordship receives also the letter of introduction to General Darling. May the Almighty bless the worthy Missionaries who have devoted themselves in so good a cause, for they are proceeding to a rough place, but their reward will be proportionably great.
My Lord, with profound respect
Your Lordship's devoted and humble servant
Francis Tuite (Rev) V.G.
P.S. After transcribing the annexed letter, I have had the misfortune to blot it. I request that your lordship will overlook it, as I have a press of business on hand.
