Reverend Sir,

By direction of His Excellency the Governor I have the honor to inform you that a Despatch has been received from the Secretary of State, dated 20th. June 1826 No. 40, appointing you to be Roman Catholic Clergyman of this Colony, with a Salary of £100 One Hundred Pounds Sterling per annum, to commence from the date of your embarkation from Ireland.

The proper notification will appear in the Gazette tomorrow and in the meantime I have the honor to request that you will furnish me with a Certificate of the date on which you embarked, that the issue of your pay may be regulated accordingly.
