Hi and welcome to my home page. I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Division of Health Sciences and currently in the role of Program Director Stage 1:Bachelor of Nursing

My research and teaching interests include immunisation, teaching and learning, critical thinking and reflection, nursing knowledge and research, acute care nursing and aged care nursing. I have a particular interest in Public Health especially in developing countries.

I have experience in teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate programs both onshore and offshore in Malaysia and Singapore. I also supervise students undertaking Honours and PhD studies and have examined theses at honours and masters level. My PhD was a feminist poststructural look at nurse-patient relationships in acute care settings.

My consultancies include a World Health Organisation (WHO) consultancy in China. This spanned for a period of 3 years and involved the development of training materials for Immunisation Providers and Village Doctors, trialling of the materials and the implementation of training programs in Gansu Province and Qinghai Province. It also included and evaluation project whereby I returned to China to provide expert advice on evaluation of the immunisation training program. I was also involved in a WHO consultancy in Geneva to develop global training materials for Managers of Immunisation Services. I have conducted training programs on participatory training methods and immunisation (EPI) in Thanh Hoa Province Vietnam for IRIS (AIHI-PATH) and was consultant assisting with Training Provincial and District level staff of the Expanded Program on Immunisation (EPI) in Ha Tinh Province, Vietnam (CVP PATH)

If you are interested or involved in any of the areas mentioned I would like to hear from you. Do not hesitate to send an email.
