- Markov Decision Processes and Matrix Analytic Methods in stochastic modelling.
- Multi-dimensional copulas; multi-dimensional checkerboard copula of maximum entropy; multi-dimensional normal checkerboard copula. Application to stochastic rainfall models.
- Stochastic Dynamic Programming framework using Conditional Value-at-Risk to study risk assessment for water management systems; decomposition approaches.
- Convex Analysis and Nonlinear Opti- mization; The theory of Fenchel duality.
- Climate Change: Development of an agreed set of climate projections for South Australia; proactive responses to climate change in water resources management.

I am currently supervising postgraduate students in mathematical modelling for water management systems; implementing new solution algorithms for stochastic dynamic programming models using techniques including matrix analytic methods, decomposition and aggregation methods; developing a Scalar Vector Graphics (SVG) simulation tool for optimal management and risk assessment in urban stormwater harvesting and utilisation schemes; comparing new stochastic rainfall models (SRMs) to existing SRMs in the context of water cycle management; and using Conditional Value-at-Risk (CVaR) to assess the cost of each water management scheme.Completed:
