Peter Cardwell is Executive Officer to both University Council and Academic Board, and has held the latter position since 1992. Prior to this he was employed as the Group Administrator for the former Elton Mayo School of Management. During the 1970s and 1980s, Peter worked in various positions at the Australian National University, the University of Sydney and the South Australian Institute of Technology, as well as teaching General Studies at the University of New South Wales and the University of Technology, Sydney. Before entering the higher education sector, Peter was a journalist with the 'Guardian' newspaper, and also coordinated a number of youth and community organisations in both Canberra and Sydney.
