Welcome to Sue Myburgh's Homepage at the University of South Australia, Adelaide, Australia.

Sue's expertise in the area of Information Management has been wide and varied, covering theory and praxis across five continents (Southern Africa, North America, Australia, Europe and South-East Asia) for over two decades. She has published widely in the areas of knowledge management, records management, strategic information management, and gender and technology. Her most recent book is "The new information professional: how to thrive in the information age doing what you love", published by Chandos, Oxford, 2005.

Her PhD, "Defining information: the site of struggle" examines the professional and social implications of diverse interpretations of the concept of information, with particular reference to the work of Information Professionals.

On her sabbatical during 2007, Sue undertook several research projects, including progressing the notion of the teaching/researc nexus; a project examining how universities can become community knowledge centres, particularly for disadvantaged groups (with the Centre for Community Informatics); a community informatics project, and a curriculum development project at the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. After this, she travelled to the University of Parma, Italy, to give a keynote address at a conference, and discuss collaboration on EU Erasmus Mundi Masters in Digital Library Learning. She currently has a particular interest in Web 2.0 uses.

She is also in the process of writing two books, both of which are to be published during 2009.
