The Institute for Telecommunications Research (ITR)is an outstanding Australian centre for research and postgraduate studies in digital wireless telecommunications technology. The ITR has a reputation for finding elegant solutions to complex telecommunications problems for both fixed and mobile satellite and terrestrial radio services. Research strengths include:

• Telecommunications Networks and Network Services

• System Analysis, Modelling & Simulation

• Source and Channel Coding, and Information Theory

• Digital Modems

• Multiple Access Techniques

ITR's research program consists of academic research to maintain and extend the pool of knowledge on telecommunications technology, and commercially funded research that works towards practical solutions in the form of software and/or hardware designs and deliverables to industry.

As the Human Resources & Student Coordinator for the Institute I am responsible for the human resource management (HR), research degree management, Occupational Health, Safety, Welfare and Injury Management (OHSW&IM) and administrative practices and systems that support these activities of the Institute for Telecommunications Research (ITR).
